Valeria Dal Bo's new book ONIRICO BLUES, with a foreword by Giampiero Neri, is now available from Quaderni del Bardo Edizioni, edited by Stefano Donno and part of the Fuochi collection directed by Ottavio Rossani. According to Neri, "The figures that appear in Valeria Dal Bo's poems, which rightly belong to her poetic world, seem to come from a gallery of surrealist paintings, dedicated to mysterious, nocturnal rituals. Their presence is generally reserved for the endings of the poems, of which they constitute the surprising element along with the words. An ensemble that fascinates us readers and leads us to follow their evolutions. These poems go through an anguished and very suffering journey, which is not spared from us, but which is never mournful, much less resigned to calamities. Instead, there is a present and lively desire not to give in to oppression, but to throw the heart over the obstacle."
"Onirico blues" is a journey from dreams to consciousness of living, within the illumination of the mind. Valeria Dal Bo's poetic tales are a succession of images, with dreams as the source and words as the means of transport to real life. The poems have no punctuation, and the rhythm slides between desire and contradiction. These images speak, recounting suffered fears, self-managed analyses, and a rise to the surface of existence. In the postscript, Ottavio Rossani describes the work as "filaments in motion" that invite the reader on a journey to the core of the author's emotions.
VALERIA DAL BO lives in Milan and has always been passionate about poetry. Since 1994, she has hosted a monthly group of "Friday Poets" at her home. She was a co-founder and editor of the magazine "Il Monte Analogo" and has published works in journals such as Juvenilia, Opera Nuova, and the anthology "Quaternario" (edited by Giampiero Neri and Gianni Mascolo). Onirico blues is her first organic collection.
