LEXINGTON CANDY SHOP in New York

“Upon arriving at the Lexington Candy Shop, stop and enjoy our historical Coca Cola display, gathered from around the world.  Everyone enjoys this display of American “Pop” history.  Our display includes Coca Cola toy trains and trucks, as well as unusual bottles and cans.  The bottles are generally from U.S. regional celebrations and sporting events, while the international cans and bottles show the global side of Coca Cola.  Our display is constantly growing through our own acquisitions as well as “gifts and donations” from our customers and visitors.
Once in the luncheonette, notice the 1940 vintage Hamilton Beach milk shake mixer located next to the coffee urns dating from 1948.  The soda fountain, with its goose neck soda and water arms also dates from 1948, when sodas and ice cream drinks were and are still made by hand with the skillful touch of the “soda jerk”. When seated, take a moment to enjoy the décor which is painstakingly maintained as authentically as possible.  An original menu is on display, as well as pictures of the store, as it originally was, along with pictures of our founders.  Pictures of a few of our celebrity customers, as well as a picture of the famous 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Champions are on view as well.  Our expert staff will answer any questions you may have about the menu or our history. Picture taking is welcome. Sit back, (unless you’re on a stool) and enjoy our timeless food and beverages. As you enjoy your meal or beverage, you will understand why the Restaurant News has this to say about us: “A David among Goliaths in Gotham City,  the Lexington Candy Shop is like a page in food service history bringing to life the energy and attentiveness of a bygone era”.
We look forward to welcoming you to a step back in time!
Here you can see and enjoy a “fresh” Coca Cola made for you just as it was in 1925.  Quench your thirst with a fresh “squeezed to order” lemonade which has been voted “Best in New York” three times by the New York Times and the New York Daily News.  Enjoy a classic American milk shake or malted acclaimed as the “Best of New York” by New York Magazine.  With all syrups blended or made on premises and using super premium ice cream, the shakes and malts are truly amazing.  All this in a setting the New York Daily News has described as a “clean, cheerful, wonderfully preserved luncheonette that does fabulous soda fountain drinks”.  One drink not to be missed is a Classic New York City Egg Cream.   Generations have enjoyed this refreshing drink (no, it does not have an egg); and nobody does it better!  We have been featured on the Food Network on three separate occasions:  for our Ice Cream Sundaes, our Lemonades and our Egg Creams, which have also been featured on Japan’s #1 nightly news show. Enjoying a simple grilled cheese sandwich, a burger done just right, or a fantastic Lexington Special, all  satisfy your comfort food craving.  Our breakfast is always available.  Our pancakes and French toast are internationally acclaimed by Le Guide Du Routard, Lonely Planet, and Le Petit Fute.  Or enjoy our egg dishes which are always cooked to perfection. Our luncheonette is also no stranger to Hollywood.  Many commercials and advertisements have been shot on location here.  We have appeared in Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford, The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johansson and Kojak with Telly Savalas.”
